EAST LONDON TOWN HOUSE

A compact East London townhouse garden designed as a seamless extension of the interior living space. Reclaimed brick slips and pale sawn limestone paving create a subtle contrast in texture and tone, while brick paving running directly from the kitchen helps blur the threshold between inside and out.

The planting was designed as a restrained tapestry of greens and soft textures, bringing calmness and depth to the space. As the garden matures, species including Cercis siliquastrum, Tetrapanax rex, Euphorbia mellifera and Fuchsia ‘Hawkshead’ will bring height, seasonal interest and contrasting foliage throughout the scheme. Layered shade-tolerant planting and delicate pockets of greenery woven through the paving help soften the clean architectural lines and create a quiet, sheltered atmosphere within the city.

This is very much year one of the garden, and we look forward to seeing the planting establish and the space continue to develop over time.
